Leave Marrakech with a driver and guide for Tahanaout, Asni, and Imlil. Visit an argan oil cooperative, see weekly souks, walk near Mount Toubkal, and eat tajine or couscous in a Berber home. You’ll hike Mount Batur in the dark with a local guide such as Sar, Wayan, or Meggie, reaching the summit for sunrise and breakfast. Spend nine hours beyond Marrakech with a local guide such as Lahcen, Oussama, Ali, or Amina. Ride a camel near Agafay, stop at Moulay Brahim and Imlil, walk 2 to 3 hours through Berber villages and orchards, then eat a fresh traditional lunch. The hike can be shortened or replaced by scenic drives if needed.

Choose a guided Etna hike to 3,000 or 3,400 meters. You’ll ride the cable car, cross lava flows and volcanic sand, and learn about eruptions from guides such as Eduardo or Giuseppe. The summit route adds a 4x4 ride and tougher hiking. Pickup from Catania is available.

Join Etna Guides at Rifugio Sapienza for a five-hour trip to 3000 meters. Ride the cable car and 4x4, then hike across black volcanic sand to Barbagallo Crater, a 2002 lava vent, recent flows, and a lava channel. Guides including Antonio, Giuseppe, Michele, and Dario lead groups in English, French, and Italian. Expect thin air, cold wind, and three to four hours on foot.

You’ll hike Mount Batur in a small group of up to five with an English-speaking guide such as Roman, Sar, or Ayu. Expect a dark, steep climb of about 90 minutes, sunrise views of Lake Batur and Mount Agung, simple breakfast, hotel transfers, and a hot shower at the Mt. Batur Lounge.

Leave Tirana by air-conditioned van for Bovilla Canyon and Lake Bovilla, then walk about 2 km up Gamti Mountain to the Balcony of Bovilla. Start before dawn for Mount Batur’s volcanic sunrise, guided by local staff such as Nopia, Ayu, or Made Rum. Hike over steep, loose gravel, then enjoy breakfast and a hot drink at the summit. Add the natural hot spring, waterfall, jungle swing, Jeep ride, or coffee tasting, depending on your package.

Ride the cable car and 4x4 toward 2,850 meters, then hike with a small group of up to eight toward Etna’s summit craters. Expect loose volcanic sand, cold wind, changing routes, and a possible summit closure if weather or volcanic activity makes the upper slopes unsafe.

Start around 2:30 a.m. with a local English-speaking guide such as Roman, Nova, or Sar, then climb Mount Batur for sunrise, crater views, and a simple breakfast.
