Chiang Mai Untouched Elephant: Nature Walk & Waterfall Trek

3.Chiang Mai Untouched Elephant: Nature Walk & Waterfall Trek

★★★★★★★★★★4.7 · 77 reviews · 5 hours · from $51Best value

Leave Chiang Mai for a hill-tribe village where rescued elephants live without chains, hooks, riding, or forced shows. Prepare food, feed and walk with them, join a river mud bath if they choose, eat a local meal, then visit Mae Wang Waterfall. English guidance, hotel pickup, and a five-hour plan are included, though the day can run longer.

“The trip to the “untouched” elephants turned out to be more of a mass-tourist experience than expected, and the waterfall was similarly crowded. That said, our hostess truly made the day special! She took great care of us, kept the mood light and fun, and made everything run smoothly. The lunch was very good, and despite the crowds, seeing the elephants up close was a reminder of how extraordinary these creatures are. Overall, it was an enjoyable day with a few tourism-heavy moments to keep in mind.”

Guides such as Tin, Sack, Sam, and O combine local plant knowledge with careful rafting instruction. Lunch, gear, showers, towels, and hotel transport are included.

“O and his teammates were incredible! It was such a thrill but they also made safety a top priority. I would definitely recommend the inflatable kayak if you're looking for a more exciting experience!”
