“Our Icelandic guide on 29 July is very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable. He not only shared information about the sights we were visiting but also his experience growing up in Iceland which is very interesting for me to learn about. We were really lucky to see the volcano still erupting albeit in the pouring rain and high winds (low visibility and pretty cold). It was such an awe-inspiring experience.”

Walk across the fresh lava fields of Fagradalsfjall on a guided 5-mile hike with about 984 feet of climbing. Guides such as Oddi, Gudni, and Sigrun explain Icelandic geology, culture, and volcanic safety. Reykjavík pickup also includes stops at Grindavík, Seltún, and Kleifarvatn.

“We got lucky to get Oddi as a guide. 100% hands down the best guide we’ve had on an excursion. Outrageously knowledgeable and courteous of all the people on the excursion. He does this hike all the time so he knows EXACTLY where is safe and where isn’t to walk when you’re on the volcano surface. Very unique and awesome experience doing this tour. Just be warned the hike up does take effort and time so prepare yourself with snacks, water and proper weather gear just in case Mother Nature turns sour. Does get extremely windy as you get higher on your hike be cautious of that. Would HIGHLY recommend…”
